Advertisement for Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer
Collingbourne Ducis Parish Council is an active and forward-thinking council seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to undertake the combined role of Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO).
This is a part-time position of 35 hours per month. The role is primarily home-based, with flexible working hours, except for attendance at Council meetings and occasional travel as required.
The starting salary will be in accordance with the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) pay scale, SCP14 (£15.31 per hour) to SCP16 (£15.82 per hour), depending on qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate must be IT literate and able to securely store a small volume of Council records at their home address. Attendance at evening Council meetings is essential; these are typically held every other month at 7:00pm.
Key responsibilities include:
Acting as the Proper Officer to the Council
Preparing agendas and taking minutes at meetings
Managing correspondence and maintaining records
Overseeing filing systems
Maintaining basic financial and payroll accounts
Previous relevant experience would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided, including support towards achieving the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA).
