Update on Saunders Meadow Play Area
Following last year’s community engagement and the subsequent decision to reinstate the condemned play park at Saunders Meadow, the Parish Council has been undertaking a competitive tender process with several companies against an agreed specification.
We are pleased to announce that a proposal from Home Front was approved at yesterday’s Parish Council Meeting.
The new play area will include:
A four-tower castle centrepiece featuring a slide, rock wall, cargo net, and agility bars
A trim trail including Russian rings, a hanging log, and a spring beam
A double swing bay with three swing types: flat, cradle, and nest
Two picnic tables
Rubber bonded mulch surfacing beneath all play equipment
Green bow-top fencing and a gate (not visualised in the render) securing the perimeter of the site
The full design can be viewed here.
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday 13 July, with completion anticipated by Friday 24 July, allowing the play area to reopen in time for the summer school holidays.
